Collage Concept Models - Program

Water sports inspired with connection to boat rowing, water wind sailing, yacht elegance, gym rigidity and fluidity, boat sails and connections.

Water inspired - because my site is near the water I tried to mimic waves; yellow represents water taxi, blue represent water sports, and green represents the hotel and how they interact with each other.
Hotel guest inspired - I looked at their luggage broke down the handle and the wheels, and looked at yacht dock for rigidity.

Collage 2 - Inventive

For this collage we were asked to choose a word from the list. Alive/Active, Adventurous, Inventive, Elegant, Hidden. After deliberation I chose Inventive because we as humans are always coming up with new ways to make life better and easier. Which I also thinks connects to architects because we are problem solvers, and we come up, adjust, and manipulate our designs to meet the needs of our client; while still sending the message we want through the building.

Collage 1 - Site Impression

My impression of my site (Pier 57, Manhattan) was that the building was old, run down, and not in use. Additionally, surrounding it was remnants of old docks, so I assumed that it had a boat life at one point in time.
